What we collect, and what we will not do with it.

What we collect

We only collect what you type into a form on this site.

• Launch list: your email address.
• Casting and private-beta applications: your name, email, which edition applies, the kind of participation you are open to, a description of who would sit across from you, and what you write about the unfinished conversation.
• Facilitator applications: your name, email, professional role, organization, and relevant experience.
• Organization inquiries: your name, work email, organization, type, and intended use.

We do not run advertising trackers, sell personal information, or share what you write with the other person in your story. Applying never contacts anyone else.

Sensitive by nature

A casting application asks about family conflict, estrangement, grief, and relationship history. Please share only what you are willing for a small review team to read. Do not include health records, financial account details, government identification numbers, or information about a person who has not agreed to be described.

Why we hold it

To answer you, assess an application, run the launch list, and keep a record of consent for anyone considered for a filmed conversation. We do not use it to make automated decisions about you.

Who processes it

Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (website hosting), and Resend (transactional email). Each processes data on our behalf under its own terms. Records are stored in the United States.

How long we keep it

• Launch list: until you unsubscribe.
• Account data — your preparation, your unsent letter, what you wrote in a conversation, and your aftercare notes: until you delete your account, which you can do yourself.
• Applications not selected: deleted within 24 months, or sooner on request.
• Consent records for filmed participation: retained for as long as the recording exists, because they are the evidence that consent was given.

Your choices

If you have an account, your data page does most of this without asking anyone: it lists everything we hold about you, downloads a copy as a file, withdraws consent to be filmed or to be on the launch list, and deletes your account. Deletion takes effect seven days after you ask, and you can call it off at any point in the meantime.

Three things outlast a deletion, and each one protects a person. A Do Not Contact choice is stored against an email address rather than an account, so neither deleting your account nor making a new one clears it. A report you made about an invitation stays, so it can still be acted on. And if you agreed to be filmed, that consent record is kept for as long as the recording exists, because it is the only proof the agreement was given — withdraw the consent and there is nothing left to keep.

For anything that page does not cover — a correction, a record that names you in someone else’s report, an application sent without an account, or a request under a law that gives you more than this — email sgotti06@gmail.com. We will confirm the request and act on it. If you are in a jurisdiction with additional rights, such as the EEA, UK, or California, those rights apply and we will honour them.

Withdrawing an application is always allowed, including after you have been accepted and before anything is recorded.

Children

This site and the conversations it supports are for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
